Do you know your body type?
Ectomorph, Mesomorph or Endomorph?
Understanding your body type is essential to structuring a tailor-made training program and diet. The three main somatotypes are ectomorph, mesomorph and endomorph, each with unique characteristics and different responses to training and nutrition.

Ectomorphs are often recognizable by their slim, slender body structure, with long limbs and narrow shoulders. Generally, ectomorphs:
- Require a high-calorie, high-protein diet to promote muscle growth.
- They have difficulty gaining muscle mass and weight.
- They tend to have a fast metabolism.

Mesomorphs are considered “naturally athletic.” They tend to build muscle and lose fat easily. The main features are:
- Efficient metabolism that allows for fairly easy weight management.
- Muscular and toned body, with broad shoulders and narrow waist.
- Positive response to various types of training.

Endomorphs have a fuller physique and tend to accumulate fat easily. They usually have:
- Greater difficulty losing weight.
- A wider bone structure, with wider hips.
- A greater predisposition to fat accumulation.
